Uncompromising
Values need character to survive like we need oxygen. Character develops when settling will ease your suffering, or provide you with 'good enough,' but you refuse to compromise.
What's your price?
That's the question I think to myself whenever a person or a company tells me about their values. Don't get me wrong, I hear you, and I believe your values are important to you, but having values written down and having character are two different things. Values need character to survive like humans need oxygen, and character isn't given, it is forged.
Character develops when compromise will ease your suffering, or provide you with 'good enough,' but you refuse to settle.
Don't take my word for it. Check out my friend Paul who wrote this book called Romans -
...we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character;
So when we talk about our core values at GodSpeaks, we talk about the values we refuse to compromise when it hurts, or when doing so would lead to a win that isn't ours to have.
Have they been tested?
Yes.
Will they continue to be tested?
Absolutely.
Are we without fault?
Definitely not.
So why are you are you sharing them here?
Good question. We think that when we build a business and you use our products that you have the right to know what is important to us, and in a way, get to be a part of holding us accountable. When you spend your time and money on one of our products, you aren't just saying you agree with the product itself, you are also saying you agree with how we do business and want to enable us to keep doing business.
So what are your core values?
I'm SO glad you asked :).
- His Glory - Our business is not for our will to be done or our kingdom to be built, but to align fully to Jesus. How can we remain in Jesus today?
- People - We will not compromise a person for our vision. How can we believe in someone else today?
- Virtue - Our values are not lived out of convenience; We live aligned no matter the cost.
- Integrity - We are the same at every distance and from every angle, though the intensity varies with intimacy. How can we be authentic today?
- Compassion - We help others see grace from where they are. We don't ignore compromise or shout from a self-righteous tower.
- Adventure - We choose to build character by pursuing faith-filled adventure.
